Freeform treeless saddle is a one piece foam mould covered by the best Italian full grain calfskin.

The modern process of Freeform saddle’s foam injection molding to produce a complete saddle (not only some parts) is a great revolution in the saddle making world, molding process ensures total symmetry at the core of the Freeform saddle.

The soft structure and flexibility of the saddle allow the horse total unrestricted freedom of movement, horse can move without losing its natural grace. The horse back can arch and thus enhances vertical and lateral movement of the thoracic vertebral column.

Rider is placed right behind the wither therefore avoiding pressure beyond the 14th thoracic vertebrae and allowing full range of movement of the shoulder blade. This way the rider weight is carried without causing pain, discomfort and damage to the horse’s body.

The area on the horse’s back equipped to carry the rider comfortably is between the 9th and the 13th thoracic vertebrae, Freeform saddle wrap the rider weight around the horses center of gravity.

Although fully flexible pressure testing through PLIP (Port Lewis Impression Pad) has shown the Freeform saddles to have some of the best weight/pressure distributing results among treeless saddles.

Whilst Freeform saddle is not a “one size fits all” solution, its overall flexibility potentially allows the rider to use one saddle on more than one horse (when used in conjunction with a properly designed treeless saddle pad) plus, as your horse’s back changes with age and conditioning, the saddle consistently maintains a good fit.

Freeform saddle feels more like a conventional saddle for the rider but it provides a better contact! Freeform has a twist like any other conventional English saddle and therefore the adjustment for the rider is minimal. In Freeform you will not seat as wide which makes it also suitable for riders with impaired hip joints.

Freeform saddle is made from a base (available in standard, short back or extra short back length) and a detachable seat. The standard base total length is 22″, the short back is 20″ for shorter gaited horses and the extra short back is 18″ 1/2, total weight of base+seat is about 3,5 kg; seats are completely removable and are attached to the base through a strong large piece of high performance Velcro. Seats are available in different size, from 15″ till 20″.

Flexible aluminium arch

A flexible aluminum arch in the pommel section of the detachable seat gives a self adjusting fit to suit several horse shapes, it aids wither clearance and adjusts automatically with both the movement and shape of the horse. Just remove the seat, gently squeeze the pommel arch together and re-fix it.

Adjustable stirrups attachment

A fully adjustable stirrup position allows the rider to place their stirrups so the ideal shoulder-hip-heel alignment can be easily attained, from jumping position to classical dressage. All D rings and buckles used are stainless steel.

Adjustable girthing

The self adjusting girthing system is a self-swinging arrangement and fits most horse conformations, positioning the girth automatically in the girth groove irrespective of where the saddle is placed. The internal section is set on a “Y” system to distribute pressure and assist saddle stability.

Lining materials

3 different materials can be used to line the underneath part of the saddle: calfskin (black, brown…), suede (black, brown…) or simpanova (just black).

Rolls and nose job

Different knee and thigh roll measures and positions are available, or no rolls at all. The cut back wither called “nose job” is available regular (9 cm) or large (13 cm) for high and withered horses.

Panels

All Freeform models can have the option of velcro on the saddle base to attach panels, developed for fitting, weight distribution and long distance riding. They open like a pocket to be filled with different foam and are fixed where the horse’s back requires.
